Kuala Lumpur skyline with the Petronas Twin Towers

Destination

When should you visit Kuala Lumpur?

Kuala Lumpur is a city built for looking up. Between the Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower, dense tropical greenery and an ever-growing collection of rooftop bars, the skyline is one of the biggest reasons to come. Add excellent food, distinct Malay, Chinese and Indian influences, lively neighbourhoods and warm tropical evenings, and KL becomes a city that works especially well after dark. The trick is timing your visit around the rain: Kuala Lumpur stays hot and humid year-round, but February offers one of the better combinations of weather, city exploring and rooftop evenings.

Founder Tip

Stay above the city

Kuala Lumpur has plenty of hotels with rooftop pools and insane skyline views. Wake up above the city, then watch the Petronas Towers light up after sunset.
